To apply for a placement, you’ll need to talk to your education provider.
We accept students from all Australian universities and Registered Training Organisations (RTOs), including TAFEs and private RTOs.
Your education provider's clinical officer organises the placement request and negotiates on your behalf. They can also talk to you about financial support options. We can't negotiate placements with individual students.
If you're at a university outside Australia, your university should contact a Queensland based university to negotiate on your behalf.

We also offer student placement experiences in primary health care facilities, depending on our operational needs.
You'll be supported during your placement by clinical preceptors in your chosen area. You'll also have the support of the Nursing and Midwifery Education Team.
We offer ongoing placement rotations for 2nd, 4th and 6th year James Cook University students. Placements are between 10 and 12 weeks.
Although we have limited places available outside our rotation schedule, we also welcome students from other universities to do selective placements with us.
Our health service offer students a unique experience where they're able to be part of a treating team with hands on and practical experience.
You'll learn about tropical medicine, infectious disease and indigenous health. You'll see your patients through from emergency care, to hospitalisations to being back in the community.
We offer allied health placements for students from all around Australia.
We have a range of locations including Cooktown, Weipa and Thursday Island. Students may also have the opportunity to visit outreach sites in surrounding communities.
Our placements are generally between 6 and 10 weeks and we accept students all year round. Placements at certain sites are subject to accommodation availability.
Students have the opportunity to work in a multidisciplinary team environment using a peer supervision model.
We offer student placements to people doing Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care courses with TAFE Queensland.
We accept students all year round at any of our health centres.

Queensland Health doesn’t enter into Student Placement Deeds with international universities.
If you’d like a placement in a Queensland Health facility, you or your university placement coordinator will need to discuss placements with a Queensland university.
