To apply for research governance authorisation you can submit a site-specific assessment (SSA) using the Ethical Review Manager (ERM). For help using ERM, read their help guide and answers to common questions.
You must send supporting documents with your SSA application. Use the research governance submission checklist [PDF 192.26 KB] to make sure you have everything you need.
If you’re working with other organisations, you may need a research agreement when you apply.
You can use these templates without further legal review if they aren’t changed.
For advice on the right agreement for your study, email torres-cape-research-governance@health.qld.gov.au.
You must have a budget before you can get sign-off from our chief finance officer and executive delegate. You can use our site specific research budget template [XLSM 87.48 KB].
Your budget must include:
The executive delegate approves these.
Our business analysts review the budget.
The Executive Director of Finance, Information and Digital Services approve these.
For advice on finance approvals and budgets, email torres-cape-research-governance@health.qld.gov.au.
If we find problems with your budget in the review, we’ll return it to you.
Depending on the type of research, you may need more levels of approval in line with legislation or policy. Read section. 3.3 Additional Approvals Required by Legislation or Policy in our research approval procedure [PDF 298.94 KB].
Your SSA form will also need signatures from the executive delegate.
You can ask for sign-off by emailing to the relevant delegate for your SSA form and site-specific research budget [XLSM 87.48 KB].
The executive delegate will depend on the location of your proposed site. If you’re unsure, email torres-cape-research-governance@health.qld.gov.au.
